It is through a work of cross-checking clues (sung texts, numbers and types of instruments mobilized…) that Sébastien Daucé and the Correspondances ensemble, with the help of musicologist Thomas Leconte, have succeeded in building this historically substantiated show while undoubtedly leaving room for their own musical sensitivity when it comes to designing the program.
We therefore remain on a ground known for the ensemble, whose approach consists precisely – rather than scattering like others to collect the baroque “hits” – in deepening ever more a very precise field where it excels. Let us bet on the relevance of such an approach and enjoy, once again, these pages – often unknown – from the literature of the Great Century.
