La Vie brève sees life double – Mediapart


Between two sketchy comedy scenes, the instrumentalists go about their business; this one is lighting up, that one knits, that other is cleaning a violin stained with wax, and so on. almost constant winding: at a crisp moment, the three viols come to surround the unfortunate and play her an aubade.
The more you go, the more the actresses sing and the more the instrumentalists play. Lucile Richardot (alto) sings melancholy on airs of composers whose names are unknown to most of the public,  except that of Purcell, Matthew Locke, Robert Johnson, John Jenkins, John Blow, Robert Ramsery ….
