Thursday evening, the Grand Concerts closed their season with an event that we never thought we would be able to see again in France in 2019: the coronation of Louis XIV!

This very rich program of the evening is the product of extensive research. The result is a delicious mix of pieces by Antoine Boesset, Jean Veillot, Heny Dumont, or motets by Étienne Moulinié, Roland de Lassus, Charles d’Helfer or Francesco Cavalli, as well as antiphons and plain songs from the Gregorian repertoire, not to mention the various anonymous pages.

Sébastien Daucé and Ensemble Correspondances, formed in Lyon in 2009 and associated with the Chapelle de la Trinité, only confirm their well-deserved reputation in the baroque world. The public in Versailles will have the opportunity to attend this coronation next month.
